About Us
The Captain
A veteran of the charter service business for over four decades, Captain Charlie Donilon has performed New England burials at sea for the past 26 years. The Captain presides over all ash burials performed on his vessel. He offers guidance through the legal process, including federal and state requirements that pertain to the New England ash burial at sea region.
Captain Donilon received his 100 tons, 100 miles, Master license in 1979. He holds an Associate’s Degree in Commercial Fisheries and Marine Technology from the University of Rhode Island and a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Arts Education from Rhode Island College.
The Boat
Docked in the fishing village of Galilee in Narragansett, Rhode Island, the all new Rhode Island charter boat “Snappa” is a 46 ft. fiberglass custom sport fisherman, built in 2008. US Coast Guard inspected, the vessel is licensed to carry over 6 passengers with a capacity of 16 passengers. The Boat is in the water from mid May to early December.
Inside the cabin, which can be sealed from the weather, cushion seating is available for 14 passengers. For your convenience, there is a four seat dinette, private head and sink. A full complement of state-of-the-art electronics is located on the bridge.
Our Rhode Island ash scattering at sea service is available from April through late December.
